Every year on and around March 14, thousands of people take action for the world’s rivers.
Advocate for your river this March 14 by taking part in the fifteenth International Day of Action for Rivers. Celebrate with hundreds of communities around the world and help keep our rivers free – free from destructive dams and free for the millions of people who depend on them.
36 countries already take action
Last year’s events were filled with music, artwork, dancing and prayer. Actions took place in 36 countries – the broadest geographical participation organisers International Rivers have ever seen.
Plans for this year’s International Day of Action for Rivers are already in motion, and range from a creative protest of the greenwashing of destructive dams at the Sixth World Water Forum in Marseille to a ceremony on the banks of the Salween River.
