Ladismith, a small town in the Western Cape, is currently being ravaged by drought. After four years with no proper rainfall the town is being supplied with borehole water because the dam is empty. Local farmers in the surrounding areas are really battling.
Deon Smit has very kindly offered to bring donated fodder to the area so local farm animals can survive, but he needs assistance with donations for fuel costs.
These farmers continue to provide food for the nation but it’s becoming more and more difficult to survive. The rain just refuses to fall in this area and all the money they have goes towards keeping the animals alive. Some farmers have sold all their livestock as they can no longer afford to buy feed.
Water Warriors is a registered nonprofit organisation based in Cape Town. Their sole purpose it is to collect donated water from the general public and big business through volunteer donation stations and distribute it to areas affected by the severe drought our country is currently experiencing.
WW have been very fortunate to have had water and transport donated on many occasions but require additional funds to transport water to towns further away that are in dire need of clean water.
Where there is water there is life. Where there is life there’s growth. Please support this worthy cause here. Even if it’s just R50.
