A nine-year-old chimpanzee has given birth to a baby male in Mpumalanga, the first live broadcast of a chimp birth, the Jane Goodall Institute SA said on Wednesday.
History is about to be made: nine-year-old chimpanzee Nina stands on the brink of delivering a baby at the Jane Goodall Institute South Africa Chimpanzee Eden Sanctuary in Mpumalanga while being monitored live via a special video webcam.
An infant Chimpanzee in Equatorial Guinea (orphaned by the illegal Bushmeat Trade) has been safely rescued, thanks to phenomenal teamwork, advice, coordination and assistance from a South African stationed in Equatorial Guinea, as well as two caring organisations.
On Monday, 30 July 2012 The Jane Goodall Institute South Africa will depart on a Rescue Mission to Equatorial Guinea to fetch a baby Chimpanzee tragically orphaned by the illegal Bushmeat Trade.
