Natural forests maintain the physical and spiritual balance of our planet. As conduits of universal energy, the world’s forests create a network of interlinking energy that provides a harmonious environment for life on Earth.
With their roots in the Earth and their crowns in the Heavens, trees act as alchemists for the Divine, connecting what is above with what is below, and so providing the building blocks that are the foundation of life as we know it. With natural forests we share a sacred bond. They have been our silent, steadfast companions throughout Life’s unfoldment. So intrinsic are natural forests to our existence that we have ceased to see them. We have forgotten the sacred bond we share.
With each breath we take we can recall this sacred connection:
As the forests exhale
so we inhale.
And as we exhale
so the forests inhale.
In giving we receive
and in receiving we give.
A sacred bond, a delicate balance.
Guidance in the light of the forest
On the 13th of November 2010, whilst meditating beneath uMvumvu, one of the great and ancient White Stinkwood trees of Platbos Forest, I experienced a deep sense of love, peace and oneness.
Held in this golden light, I received the following guidance:
‘LOVE is the answer to how you can heal the Earth. You know this intellectually but what is now required is that you FEEL this truth in your heart centre daily, just as you are doing now beneath the white stinkwood tree. To spend a few minutes on this each day will create miracles: – for the love that you generate within your heart will be amplified tenfold by the forest. This is all that is required. Your love, amplified by the forest, is your most powerful tool for healing the Earth.’
From here was born the vision for the Trees of Light Meditations – a network of people across the globe holding hands with one another and with the forests of the world, united by our love for the Earth and our commitment to her healing.
Wherever you might be in the world, I invite you to connect with me and the trees of Platbos Forest each Wednesday evening from 6.30 pm until 7.00 pm.
You can meditate beneath a real tree or in a nearby forest or if this is not possible, you can simply visualize a remembered forest or tree, or work with a photograph, a tree essence or something else that is evocative of forests for you. You can meditate alone or you could create a weekly meditation group.
A Simple Technique to Enhance Heart Focus
The Three Directional Breath helps us to focus our consciousness in our heart centre. It is very effective if you imagine yourself to be a tree: Your roots firmly anchored in Mother Earth, your crown drawing in heavenly light and your heart holding the centre.
Now as you breathe in, imagine that you are drawing air up from the core of the Earth, up through the soles of your feet, and pausing at the heart centre. Now breathe this air out through your heart, radiating it out as pure light, pure love, in all directions. Now breathe in light through your heart centre, allowing it to radiate throughout your being, pause, and then breathe it out through the crown of your head.
See the white light streaming out to connect with the distant stars, our sun and moon. Now draw in heavenly white light down through the crown of your head, pause at the heart centre and then radiate this pure energy back out of your heart centre. Continue now in this way, breathing in through the heart and out into the Earth, in from the Earth and out through the heart, in through the heart and out through the crown of the head until you feel yourself to be rooted to the Earth and connected to the Heavens with your heart holding the centre, holding the balance.
Hold the intention that the love you generate be amplified tenfold by the trees and forests of the world; know that this healing energy will go to wherever it is most needed.
By connecting with each other and with the world’s forests we can greatly enhance and amplify our healing intent that is so critical for the planet right now. We will also be returning love, healing and gratitude to the trees and the forests of the world that are our life support.
I envisage a golden network of light that resonates out from all corners of the globe.
If this resonates with you, please send this message throughout your own networks so that we can truly create a global forest of light. I would love to hear from you so that I can pinpoint you as a point of light on my ‘Forests of the World’ map.
With love and blessings from Platbos Forest,
Melissa Saayman Krige
