Waste Economy Workshop

seagulls rubbish dump beddingtonGreenCape’s Waste Economy Workshop will focus on Implications of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act amendments and business opportunities in the Waste Sector; as well as some of the upcoming waste projects in the Western Cape municipalities.

You can look forward to presentations from various solid waste municipal managers, connecting with others in the space, information sharing and staying up to date with recent developments in waste legislation.

The purpose of the workshop:

  • Giving an opportunity to industry to be updated on the latest amendments to the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act 32 of 2008) and its impacts on business activities;
  • Provide investors and various stakeholders in waste management businesses with an opportunity to hear about waste management plans and activities of local municipalities and the potential opportunities these might hold for them;
  • Provide investors and waste management businesses with information on national initiatives in the waste-to-energy space.
