Verlede week se artikel oor Plastics|SA se African Marine Debris Summit in The Green Times was niks anders as WONDERLIK nie.
Get Up and GO 9/Mar/2015 12:09:25 The Green Times Weekly green feature with Elma from the Green Times. She talks about polystyrene recycling in schools which is used for funding the Bread Tags for Wheelchairs project. Dis regtig wonderlik om te weet dat ons ‘n gesoute en passievolle joernalis soos jy aan ons kant het. Indien ons dit nog nie vantevore gesê het nie, ons waardeer jou!

Eldo Energy has been using the Green Times for the past few months. We have been very happy with the results of advertising with them and taking part in their newsletter. Their pricing has been very competitive, and having tracked the outcome on google analytics, we were surprised at the number of website visits and enquiries resulting from our taking part in this online community. It would not have been easy to generate this amount of traffic for this price through other online advertising methods, as the Green Times, while having a smaller audience than some online magazines, has a much more focused audience with respect to their interest in the the environment, energy, and being generally green, sustainable and socially responsible. Thank you Green Times!

Nokia is happy with the cooperation with Green Times, and this is something I would like to continue in 2012. Based on the articles we published in Green Times so far, I have been contacted by journalists and environmentalists who wanted to know more about Nokia’s sustainability strategy, so this has been very productive.

Hi Green Times team,
Well done on an excellent website!
With the Strand as my birthplace I truly appreciate the local articles you share.
Green Times has become my new favourite favourite site. It is like a “one stop shop” for news, education, interaction and whole lots more.
Thank you for this amazing site that I will share with all my collegues at PetroSA.
– Beverley of PetroSA:
Hi Elma. Sounds like all the radio stations subscribe to The Green Times as I’ve had 3 requests for radio interviews this week all referring to your publication and that they picked up on the story there. Nice going!
– Yolanda of Energy Cybernetics
Elma. Thank you so much for the article about me and my business. I’ve had so much feedback and praise. I even have an interview scheduled tomorrow with SAFM. Thanks so much for taking the time to sit with me and listen to my story.

Our society faces a fork in the road now. Either we continue with our destruction of our Earth life support systems, or we rapidly learn to live within Earth boundaries. The wise choice is of course to live within the constraints the biosphere sets for us. But this requires a deep reassessment of everything we do, including the values that are most dear to us. The Green Times has for years been at the vanguard of informing us on what must be done. Elma and her colleagues are a shining light amongst the social and environmental change movement.

Your place in society is to continue speaking in a principled, articulate way for the environment and do so largely untrammelled by our over-commercialised, pre-packaged world order. The Green Times creates awareness of climate and environmental threats in this country and does so in a heart-felt yet balanced way, allowing for different views to be surfaced. Coverage of a complexity of issues is regular and extensive with past articles well archived and accessible. The underlying and accurate sense of urgency about the challenges planet and people face and the need for systemic change of habits, outlook, economy and personal action is backed up with a wide range of positive examples of high and low tech solutions as well as inspiring consciousness-raising and mental shift anecdotes.

Thank you very much for your concern. Yes I have seen the GREEN TIMES [story] and it is very impressive and I think this might be the best money I’ve ever spent. Thank you once again.

The Green Times has a special place in my working day. In an era of information overload but not enough time to sift through it all, the Green Times helps to keep me up to date with Sustainability-related news and some of the latest research findings relevant to South Africa. Through the lens of the Green Times I see how innovative and persistent people are in their determination to move the needle of transformation, and it inspires and motivates me to push through the barriers of bureaucracy, red tape and denial to providing solutions that are good for the whole. The Green Directory has assisted as a starting point for academic research into the growing prevalence of sustainability-driven businesses and connected me to like-minded people who can assist me or I them in our endeavours to bring sustainable development into mainstream South Africa. The Green Times alerts me to courses, conferences and seminars that are taking place on a variety of subjects. Some of the articles provoke me to respond or to send them on to friends and business colleagues, which then builds the circle of knowledge and debate, which is sorely needed in this country. I trust this publication and believe there is a high level of integrity in the journalism, which cannot be said for many other “green” publications.

Green Times is my only easily-accessible source of quality, relevant environmental news. Thanks for five years of great news, Elma, hoping that you get all the support you need.
