Last chance to stop 5G antennae in your garden

August 20, 2020 Leave a Comment

Thousands of scientific studies have demonstrated that radiation from cell towers, WiFi and cellphones have been damaging our health since the introduction of 2G, 3G, 4G technologies over the past 30 years. As a medical doctor I am becoming increasingly concerned about the harm caused by electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in our environment. It is no coincidence that there … [Read more...]

Does 5G mean the final knockout for the bees?

April 28, 2020 3 Comments

The great success in Bavaria, Germany, of the referendum "Save the bees!" shows that the saving of the bees and nature is a big concern for many citizens. Populations of flying insects have declined shockingly by 75 to 80 percent since 1989. The goal of the bill is to counter the loss of species, especially the decline of bees, bumblebees and butterflies, by adjusting … [Read more...]

Took a turn past Hospital Bend yesterday to check out the extent of the burn scars and fire damage from the recent massive #CapeTownFires. With the flames mostly extinguished and the helicopter crews standing down I could circle overhead without getting in the way of the amazing people that risk their lives to protect the rest of us from these hugely destructive events.

The extent of the burn was obvious from a long way off and my immediate reaction was amazement that more property was not not impacted. With the gale-force southeaster fanning the flames on Monday and both driving the fire towards Vredehoek and preventing the helicopter crew from flying it is actually quite amazing that the fire line was held and properties such as the iconic salt and pepper pots did not burn!

Rhodes Memorial was in the middle of it and it is not surprising that the Tea Room burnt down but I was quite interested in the way the damage at UCT was isolated to just a few random places spread quite far apart within the campus.

To the fire fighters, from those on the ground right in the fire line to the incredibly skilful helicopter pilots and spotter pilots and not forgetting the myriad of personnel behind the scenes organising and driving the effort, you folks are amazing!
