The Green Times

Climate change is the most widespread & complex problem humanity has ever faced! There is no time to waste and we need to turn green talk into profound green action. This is the intention of the GREEN TIMES.

Gearing up for another green day

November 24, 2012 Leave a Comment

gearing-up-for-another-green-dayThe Little Green Gathering weekend and Little Green Days are eco friendly, solar powered, wind powered, compost toileted, children welcoming, talent accepting, organic and vegetarian.

These events bring great local bands, DJs, comedy and theatre to entertain. With competitions, a healing space, green kids area, permaculture gardens and an open-mic wind and pedal-powered stage.

There will be space for creative expression and collaboration with recycled art workshops and musical jams. We focus on healthy earth and body, by offering organic food stalls and green trading of environmentally sound products.

The next Little Green Day will be taking place next year in Vredehoek.

ideas, inspiration & collaboration

Inspiration for the Little Green Gathering events has come from working at Glastonbury’s Green Futures Field and the Big Green Gatherings in the UK. The Little Green event’s aim to be collaborative and interactive, we want to involve people of all ages and from different cultural backgrounds.

These events are specifically designed to celebrate and include kids as we believe our children hold the key to a more caring and environmentally conscious future. Little Green day events will bring people together to explore possibilities and ideas for the weekend events planned for next year and each year after.

We are planning competitions in schools for green earth art, recycled sculpture and even earth friendly poetry and stories.

Another exciting idea is the GREEN BAND COMPETITION – we want to hear from any bands who are conscious about the environment. Send a proposal to us (or even a video) explaining why you are a Eco-Band. And of course you will need to write and perform a GREEN SONG!
